Q: WHAT IS AFRICANFEST-NYC?
A: AFRICANFEST-NYC is the 2 Day celebration of everything Africa and Diaspora Africans in Staten Island section of New York City.
Q: IS IT THE SAME AS AFRICAN ARTS & CULTURAL FESTIVAL?
A: YES! It is the same. As a matter of fact, AFRICANFEST-NYC is a shorter way of saying or writing African Arts & Cultural Festival
Q: IS THE FESTIVAL RAIN OR SHINE?
A: Of cause! No rainchecks or money back from the Department of Education (owner of the venue)
Q: WHEN IS THE FESTIVAL?
A: Every 3rd Weekend in August. However, this year due to scheduling conflict, it will be the 4th Weekend of the month (8/27/22 - 8/28/22)
Q: TIME?
A: 12:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Q: VENUE?
A: MakerPark - Across from 450 Front Street. Staten Island, New York 10304
Q: WHO ARE THIS YEAR'S PERFORMERS?
A: Registration for the performers is still ongoing. Once the registration is closed, list of performers will be published
Q: HOW MUCH DOES THE FESTIVAL COSTS?
A: For you, IT'S FREE! For us, it cost a lot money!
Q: IS THE FESTIVAL ACCESSIBLE TO PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES?
A: Absolutely! That's why we chose the venue. We wouldn't have it any other way.
Q: HOW CAN I HELP?
A: There are many ways to help:
(1) Get the word out to your friends and family
(2) Invite at least 3 of your friends
(3) In addition to your friends, bring at least 3 family
members ............ and / or
(4) Volunteer to help out at the event ..... and / or
(5) Support us with your donation at GOFUNDME
Q: WHAT CAN I BRING TO THE FESTIVAL?
A: -Small purses or Clear bags (Vendors have shopping bags for your purchase)
Q: WHAT IS NOT PERMISSIBLE?
A: -No weapons of any kind (including knives)
-No large backpacks
-No food or drinks (we have food vendors)
-No alcoholic drinks of any kind
-No Illegal substance of any kind
-No Coolers or Picnic Baskets
-No Pets (Certified service dogs will be permitted)
-No scooters or personalized motorized vehicles
-No Audio or Video recording equipment
-No unathorized vendors will be permitted
-No solicitation, handbills, sampling etc. by non-vendors

After attending the 1st day of the festival, I could no longer contain the African in me!
As African-American midlle-aged woman, I'm glad I live to see this festival............right here, in my hometown of Staten Island.
