Oumie is one of the two individuals who founded AFRICANFEST-NYC. Known for her easy-going demeanor, she a vocal advocate for Africa and Africans. She also make sure African is well represented at several community related events in New York City. She is also a NACA (USA) INC., Board Member

Rev. Johnson is a long-term Staten Island resident and a voice for the underserved in the community. Rev. Johnson developed personal interest in AFRICANFEST-NYC because of her interest in any program that can bring people together.

Having Yamda on the "Team" is an added bonus to a group that is already full of dedicated individuals. She is currently serving as the festival Programs Director

Retired Professor Charles Thomas was the former Head of African Studies at CUNY / The College of Staten Island. He was a profilic historian of African Arts & Culture. Prof. Thomas is an actor, Dancer, Musician, Performer and Educator.

He has been honored by organizations such as Screen Actors Guild, the NAACP, The Grammys, etc.

Tayo was one of the first of three volunteers we had for the 2017 AFRICANFEST-NYC. She was a true believer in the festival and wanted it to be successful.

Tayo brought her management experience to the committee and has been a "voice of reasoning" at every meetings she attended.

Mr. Dennis is a well known and highly respected member of the Saten Island community. He is a mentor, basketball coach and a notable DJ.

Without his expertise, the 2019 AFRICANFEST-NYC would not have gone as smoothly as it did

Adewunmi joined the "Team" recently and quickly took over the role of Information / Registration Manager. At meetings, she was very involved, asked reasonable questions and helped in finding solutions to some of the issues at hand. Ms. "Wunmi has proven to be a consummate professional and we are glad to welcome her to the "Team"

Mr. Greg Taylor decided to join the "Team" because he believes that Africans need to unite and celebrate our culture and tradition. During his first meeting with the "Team", it became obvious that Mr. Taylor is a welcome addition to the dynamic people we already have. A Staten Island resident, Mr. Taylor is almost a member of the Alkebulan Consciousness Rising

Mr. Aj. is a Community Organizer and a well known advocate for children and those who are "down on their luck" in our community. Mr. Aj believes that "Africans have stories to tell and those stories must be told by Africans themselves" He also insisting that when the stories is being told, it must be inclusive of our Diaspora African brothers and sisters
